Brian sent us this photo of a Box Tree Moth which he saw in Swanage on 2/10/22 . He was having difficulty in identifying it in his comprehensive moth guide book but that was due to it being a migrant and a fairly unwelcome one at that if you are a Box plant owner.

Alan found this Box Tree moth flying around his bedroom in Bournemouth and sent us his photo on 12/08/22.
An unwelcome immigrant species if you grow Box , but nevertheless a beautiful insect.
Mel sent us this photo on 2/08/21 of a male Box-tree moth which he found in his kitchen in late July.
A splendid photo showing great detail.

Donald sent us this photo of a Box Tree moth he trapped in his Bournemouth garden on 31/07/20.
He tells us:
This moth was accidentally introduced to the UK from south-east Asia and first seen in Kent in 2007. It is a serious pest of box hedges and topiary.
I love it’s iridescent, mother of pearl quality.
Hopefully Donald doesn’t have any Box plants in his garden!
