Know your butterflies!

A blue butterfly with a white fringe to the wings crossed with black markings
Adonis Blue. Photro: Mark Pike

Want to sort out the Holly Blue from the Adonis? Or the Silver-washed Fritillary from the Marsh Fritillary? Book now for our always-popular Butterfly Identification Workshop.

The day is in Cerne Abbas, and will be indoors in the morning, then outdoors in the afternoon (weather permitting). The nearby Giant Hill has some superb butterfly habitat, so you should be able to put your newly-found knowledge into practice.

We are hoping that people who come to this day will go on to record butterflies for us, but that isn’t essential.

There is a £10 fee, to cover the cost of the hall, and booking is essential, so email Steve Brown, who will lead the day, on [email protected] or phone him on 07748730399.
