Two photos from Brian who sent them in telling us:

For the last few years Small Tortoiseshells have been a rare visitor to our garden. Sometimes just one in a whole year. This year so far we have been fortunate to see two. The 1st one on 26/03/2022 looked worn and faded having hibernated from last year. Then today 10/06/2022 our 2nd Small Tortoiseshell looking very pristine, stayed in our garden at Harman’s Cross for a long time nectaring on the flowers. It posed for photos at all angles, which they seldom do.
