Unusually large numbers of this stunning species have been observed recently across the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch areas, indicating a possible influx from continental Europe. This individual was seen on the Bournemouth Eastcliff.

No longer a National Scarce B species and now breeding here , together with climate change and extreme periods of heat in Europe we are likely to see large numbers of this colourful moth in future years.
