Martin trapped this Waved Umber in his moth trap in Wimborne on 19/04/19.

This moth always rests with wings flat so that the straight edged markings on fore and hind wings line up rather like parallel fissures on a wood surface. The diagonal straight edged banding on hind wing is unique among British moths.

Generally on the wing mid April -June, with a rare partial second generation in hot summers , July and August.
