Hethfelton WoodThis is a small Forestry Commission site, where they are working to restore areas of native broadleaf wood, and Butterfly Conservation are monitoring the site to see the effect this has on butterflies.

Near Wool (between Wareham and Dorchester)

  • Silver-studded Blue (small numbers)
  • Silver-washed Fritillary (pictured right)

Entrance is at grid ref SY 858/875

on the A352 Wareham to Dorchester road, just east of Wool.

There is a small parking area at the entrance.
