We are seeing a magnificent number of Painted Ladies being reported to us: 961 in the last seven days!

The Painted Lady is a migrant who we often only see in fairly small numbers, but every now and then the circumstances are right for a bumper year.

To give you an idea of just how amazing the 961 reported in the last week is, in the whole of May 2025 only 91 were reported – which is also the number reported in the whole of 2020.
