Brown Argus. Photo: Brian Arnold
Brian sent in this photo telling us:
We saw this Brown Argus on Sunday 03/05/2026 on the footpath at the base of Brenscombe Hill near Woolgarston, which is about 2.5 Km east of Corfe Castle – it is the first one I have seen this year. Although it is quite early in the season for this species, I was not too surprised to see it as we have already seen a Common Blue at Durlston. It is a male and probably freshly emerged, just in time for me to see and photograph it.
