What a lucky moth! Kevin sent us this photo and story:

Yesterday evening 15/10/24 I rescued this Deaths- head Hawk-moth from a bucket of water in my garden near Broadmayne. A very fortunate moth as I heard its struggles in the dark. On handling, the moth made a series of rapid short squeaks, which I understand are produced by forcing air through the proboscis. It has spent the day in our dry woodshed from where it can continue its journey this evening.
