Always a joy to see a Small Copper, even if they will insist on fussing and fidgeting on flower heads when being photographed. This one was seen yesterday, 29/07/2024 near Knitson on the path westwards from Godlingston Hill, just one of 19 species encountered. Wall Browns were particularly plentiful but took risks playing ‘chicken’ on the path, taking flight at the last moment.
