Mike sent in these photos with the following comments:

I made a visit to Tout Quarry, Portland on 21/07/2024 particularly to see Grayling – or rather, not see them.  They really are the masters of disguise and blend in so well with the stony tracks there that they can be near impossible to spot. Even after you find one, if you take your eyes off it for a second then you can struggle to relocate it!

Luckily they have habit of flying up when disturbed and then landing again a short distance away. A long lens is therefore very useful for a photo without disturbing them
