We are receiving reports of (another) Red Admiral influx. Harold took this picture at Old Harry in Purbeckon 26 September. He said there were also Painted Ladies, Clouded Yellows, Wall and Small Whites.
We’ve also had reports of 58 Red Admirals in Puddletown, 46 near Worth Matravers and 300 at Osmington Mills (near Weymouth), plus other reports from around Weymouth of 173 and 132. We congratulate all the recorders on managing to count so many!
You can keep up with the sightings on our Recent Sightings page, which shows that in the last ten days we have had 1,179 sightings of Red Admirals,
The Red Admirals, Painted Ladies and Clouded Yellows are all likely to be coming in on winds from Europe, so keep your eyes open – you might see more.
