I am wondering if there has been a recent influx of Painted Lady butterflies into Dorset. I saw this one 2 days ago (15/09/2023) at Sandsfoot Castle in Weymouth. Then yesterday whilst doing our transect count at Durlston, we saw 2 more – both were on or near the coast path.

Editor’s Note:  There were only 12 recorded sightings of Painted Lady butterflies reported to Dorset BC in the 10 days prior to 15/09/2023
