The Dukes are back at Cerne Abbas

Clive Hill has recently been searching the slopes near the Cerne Abbas Giant for a sighting of the Duke of Burgundy in its main Dorset stronghold.

The day of the King’s Coronation came and passed but finally on 07/05/2023 they emerged – just a few of them at the moment and with the uncertain weather forecast it may be a little longer before we see them in greater numbers.

They are a little later emerging this year – the first ones reported to Dorset BC in 2021 were seen on 24 April and in 2022 on 26 April.
