You can see what species are flying by going to our Recent Sightings page. At the top of the page you will see a colourful representation of which species are being most reported, and if you hover over any of the coloured areas you will see how many have been sighted.
Even more helpfully, if you scroll down a little, there are ‘Sighting Details’ and if you click on the heading which says ‘species’ it will put the species’ names in alphabetical order, so you can scroll down and see what butterflies are being reported. It also tells you where they have been sighted.
Further down again is a map, so you can work the other way: you can select an area and find out what has been seen, by clicking on the pins. An even more detailed map is available on our White Holes page.
We hope this will help you enjoy your butterfly spotting all the more. Please report your sightings so we build up the best picture we can of how our butterflies are faring.
