Butterfly Conservation volunteers joined forces with Dorset Wildlife Trust volunteers recently to harvest seed from Perryfields, one of Butterfly Conservation’s Reserves on Portland. The session was led by Bryan Edwards, a director of the newly formed Portland Nature Community Interest Company and was aimed at a variety of target species of plant, which will be used to reseed the newly-formed banks on the edge of Silklake Quarry housing development. This development is close to our other Portland Butterfly Reserve: Broadcroft.
A second seed-collecting day is planned on 3rd September, so if you would like to join us, please see the Events page.
