Two photos from Dave both taken today, 04/05/2021 and sent in telling us:

Think this is a first for the year in Dorset. Two immaculate Common Blues seen in the perimeter dip at Hod Hill.  Unfortunately the wind stopped them from opening their wings but it’s a male and female.

Editor’s Note:  This does appear to be the first Common Blue reported to Dorset Butterfly Conservation this year – the first one reported to us last year was on 26/04/2020.
