Mark sent us this super photo of a Large Tortoiseshell he saw on Portland on Saturday 27/02/2021 adding that they are down in Church Ope cove amongst the beach huts and that they have been up by the Pirates graveyard in the elms.

Editor’s Note:  It is very good news to hear that this wonderful butterfly has successfully bred on Portland again this year – the first sighting of one reported to Dorset Butterfly Conservation last year was on 03/03/2020.
