Caroline sent us these photos of a stunning Leopard Moth which she caught in her Oakford Fitzpaine garden trap on 12/07/20.

It’s easy to see why it is so called, what a fabulous looking insect. Who said moths were boring?

Its season is late June-early August and found in the South of England and north to Yorkshire, the eastern half of Wales, and on just Jersey in the CIs.
