Mark must have been pleased to find he had trapped an Eyed Hawkmoth in his Motcombe garden on 15/06/20.

This species can be seen early May to mid July sometimes with a partial second generation in the South in August to mid September.

When disturbed it shows its ‘eyes’ and sometimes rocks to and fro, to deter birds who are partial to moths.
