The first butterflies of the year are now appearing in our gardens and if you are wondering what to do now that we are spending so much of our time at home how about a bit of Citizen Science?

If you have a garden it would give you something interesting to do and would be very useful to us at Butterfly Conservation if you recorded the various butterfly species you see in your garden a systematic manner.

Download a Garden Recording Form you can print out, or for much more information about the garden butterfly recording survey visit Butterfly Conservation’s website at www.gardenbutterflysurvey.org

You can find out more about how to garden to attract butterflies on our Gardening page – written by a Dorset branch member with photos from her garden.
