We have received reports of over 200 Painted Ladies today, mainly from the south of Dorset but a few further north. These butterflies are migrants to this country; they may breed here in the summer, but they cannot make it through our winters. Every now and then there is a really bumper year when thousands turn up – is this going to be one of them?
