Black and white butterfly on a bramble leaf.

The first shot we’ve received this year of a Marbled White – an unmistakeable butterfly which likes areas of long unimproved grassland. It is fairly widespread in Dorset. John caught the shot at Fontmell Down on 04/06/2017. As he says, it’s a shame the grass stalk got in the way, but the shot is still a lovely bit of proof that summer is here, in theory at least!
