Dorset Branch members will be receiving their Spring newsletters (Number 81) around now. We have had one report of a copy missing a sheet comprising four pages. If yours is similarly short of pages, please contact us via our contact form so we can get a new copy to you.Alternatively, you can always find the latest – and past – newsletters on this website, from a link on the News page to the ‘Branch Newsletters” page. The website is now supplying two versions of each of the Newsletter and the Events List: one which is suitable for reading online and one which is designed to be printed and folded into a booklet.
We ask members to think whether they could read these documents online, or print them off, to save the Branch the expense of printing and postage, which is substantial. The cost of printing the two is around £600 each time, and the postage is approximately £320, even though we use the franking machine at HQ, which reduces the second class postage cost from 55p to 40p. If you feel you could do this, please contact Robin George, our Membership Secretary.
We welcome contributions for the newsletter from any of our members – could you tell us about what made you interested in butterflies, or about special sightings you remember, or ideas for walks to see butterflies we could arrange? Our new editor is Jane Smith: contact information on our Who’s Who page.
