Walks and Reserves

In this section you will find a selection of walks, which together make up a book project, "Butterfly Walks in Dorset". They are based on some of the finest Transect routes (Butterfly Monitoring Walks) in the county and as such have been expanded beyond the basic route descriptions.

This section also includes one of the Dorset Branch Butterfly Reserves on Portland, Broadcroft Quarry, which is home to the Small Blue, the Grayling and the Silver-studded Blue butterfly and many other important Dorset species. The other Dorset Branch Butterfly Reserve on Portland is Perryfields, which is smaller, but has similar species of butterfly.

A map of the Walks is available here.
