It’s Official! The BBC’s Autumwatch 2016 will be broadcast live from RSPB’s Arne Nature Reserve, right here in Dorset!
The much-anticipated programme will air between the 24th and 27th October and is set to follow the fortunes and, of course, misfortunes of some of Britain’s much-loved wildlife during the autumn months.
Arne was described by the RSPB as being home to a “wealth of wildlife in a beautiful setting” and in terms of butterflies this couldn’t be more true. The star of the show must surely be the gorgeous Silver-studded Blue: a butterfly that has undergone a major decline nationally over the last 40 years but can still be found in good numbers in June and July on Arne’s heathlands.
